Well Meaning But

Press reports quote the Sultan of  Perak as saying that the new government must rule justly. Admirable sentiment. He might just as well have asked that flying saucers avoid Malaysian air space. And with the same effect.
His sincerity is not in question but Malaysians will wonder what world he has been living in since his fellow ruler and co-conspiraors ignored the opinion of all the members of the Assembly and appointed the crook Moo, for whom not a single colleague had voted.

Perhaps the Agong has explained to the other “rulers” the reason for his choice- And perhaps he hasn’t, since the admission would be fatal to reputation; as well as damaging the already fragile concept of “royalty” in Malaysia..

Perhaps those reporting the Sultan’s remark should renew their question in six month’s time.
