In his brief May Day message uploaded on his blog, Najib said that he is “not fond of entertaining” allegations that have no basis.

“This is because in the era of social media, issues can easily spread without limits.

“Entertaining these issues all the time will only divert my focus from efforts to develop the nation. To increase productivity, we must focus on our work,” he added.

As prime minister, Najib said his leadership style is more focused on efforts to develop the nation.

“I will continue to explain the issues which are raised from time to time, but let us not lose focus on the responsibilities entrusted (in us) because we are too preoccupied with the never ending issues brought up,” he added.

No one likes answering tough questions.  However, Najib should not be allowed to get away with pretending he is ignoring “baseless allegations”.

You can’t ignore RM42 billion worth of debt and you can’t ignore theft and lies.

If Najib had credible explanations for the situation over 1MDB he would have given them long ago to put an end to the inconvenient clamour that is dominating headlines.

Instead, he just flip-flopping about. One day ordering an enquiry and the next claiming it is just a matter of “wild allegations”.  Finally, he has decided to ignore the whole body of evidence, calling it a “social media” lie.

We all know Najib has bags of money, although no one can work out quite how he got it and he is suing people over far lesser issues.  So, why doesn’t he sue Sarawak Report in a UK court?

Then the “wild” and “baseless” allegations can be tested on the evidence.
