The Australian government today warned its citizens of a possible terrorist attack in “locations frequented by Westerners” in Kuala Lumpur.
“Terrorists may be planning attacks in and around Kuala Lumpur. Attacks could be indiscriminate and may target Western interests or locations frequented by Westerners.
“You should be particularly vigilant at this time,” it said in a travel advisory published today Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website, smartraveller.gov.au
It maintains that Australians should reconsider travel to the east coast of Sabah, where several tourists have been kidnapped by militants.
Australia’s warning comes after the British government raised the terror threat level for East Malaysian resorts last week…. Police had said that it is working with the intelligence units of the two countries on the matter.
All it would take would be for an obliging Red Shirt to let off a molotov cocktail somewhere to give Najib the excuse he is itching for, which is to crack down on the entire country and assume total personal dictatorship.
No wonder Malaysian ‘intelligence’ has been whispering of extremist threats to their Australian and British counterparts.
This would be Najib’s dream solution, enabling him to crack down on the remaining trappings of democracy and all his opponents, as well as to cover up all those corruption issues, while posing as a sorry victim and friend of western democracies against militant extremists in the process!
Would the Australians be that dumb or unconcerned enough to buy such a story, in the same way that some officials appear to accept the nonsense that Sirul impossibly recorded his videos before he went into captivity (referring to events happening a year after his incarceration)?
Others have taken this appalling tactic against their own people in other countries in the not too distant past. Najib must at least show himself not willing to cross such a line, for which he could never be forgiven.
