Second Resources Planning and Environment Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan yesterday assured Melikin folk that the government does not tolerate anyone found breaking the law.
“The government does not condone illegal logging. We also do not condone intimidation or activities that jeopardise the environment and those committing such offences will definitely be dealt with accordingly,” he said.

At last a statement from Awang Tengah, whose own nominee is a major shareholder of United Teamtrade, one of the two companies tearing up trees in Melikin. Yet, still no comment about this outrageous conflict of interest! And nothing either about the local Police Chief, who has astonishingly claimed there is no gangster problem and stands accused of failing to police the area. As we have revealed, this fellow is none other than Tengah’s own brother in law!
Likewise, fellow BN minister, Naroden Majais, has claimed with respect to the other main shareholder WFM Plantation, “I don’t know the company and this company has got nothing to do with me”.
That’s funny, since WFM is the major shareholder of two separate companies that have longterm links to Naroden Majais. In fact, according to Land and Survey records, Majais acted as the main representative for Hydroflow and Indranika Sdn Bhd, which are both owned by none other than WFM, this company, which he claims ‘doesn’t know’ and which has “nothing to do with”.
How can these ministers expect anyone to beleive a word they say?
